Zune HD Official!

Yes, it's true - Zune HD is coming this fall! Microsoft has officially announced the next iteration in their Zune line.

The specs go like this: 3.3-inch, 480 x 272 OLED capacitive touchscreen display, built-in HD Radio receiver, HD output (utilizing a new dock -- not on-board), and... not much more right now. Microsoft is doing away with the famed squircle in favor a full multitouch device, and they seemed to indicate that some new touch-friendly apps and games would be headed our way, though they were fairly mum when it came to details. The device will boast an IE-based, customized browser, but little else was said in the way of software.

We'll have to wait and watch wether this one is an iPod killer or not.

Nokia's E52 brings 8 hours of talktime

Nokia just gave details about another E-series device. The E52 comes with great battery specs: 8 hours of talk or 23 days of standby. Otherwise it's an A-GPS, HSUPA data, and 3.2 megapixel candybar with generous support for your IT environments via built-in mobile VPN, Call Connect, and choice of corporate email options including Nokia Messaging, Exchange, and yes, Lotus Notes too for all you accountants. It will ship in the second half of the year for €245, pre-subsidy and pre-tax.
