TechVista New Delhi 2007 - This one was great

I just attended the TechVista event organized by Microsoft Research yesterday and it came out to be a really big and interesting event. Actually, TechVista is a platform for scientists, academia, the government and industry to interact and chart new directions for research. This was the fourth TechVista event, last one being in Bangalore, 2006.

The speakers at the conference were :

* Prof. Ken Perlin, Media Research Laboratory, Dept. of Computer
Science, New York University and Academy award winner
* Prof. Mriganka Sur, Sherman Fairchild Professor of Neuroscience, and Head, Dept of Brain and Cognitive Science, MIT
* Prof. Jeannette Wing, President's Professor of
Computer Science, Computer Science Department Head, CMU
* Prof. N Balakrishnan, Associate Director, IISc
* Dr. Rick Rashid, Senior VP, Microsoft Research
* Bill Buxton, Principal Researcher, Microsoft Research

A lot of new technologies developed were being talked about, most of them being offered by Microsoft. Robotics was among one of the topics being talked about and it was really interesting and amazing.

Overall, TechVista was great and was one of the best events of the year.
